British Esports Association joins Creative Industries Federation

February 19th, London: The British Esports Association, the not-for-profit organisation set up to promote and support grassroots esports, has joined the Creative Industries Federation as a member.

The Creative Industries Federation is an independent national organisation for the UK’s creative industries, cultural education and arts, and works with government on a wide range of policy issues. Its network allows members to connect and work with one another on initiatives.

The British Esports Association has joined to educate other members on challenges and opportunities within esports, and broaden our reach.

British Esports Association chair Andy Payne OBE has joined the Creative Industries Federation UK Council, sitting alongside chief executives such as British Film Institute’s Amanda Nevill, English Heritage Trust’s Kate Mavor and Arts Council England’s Darren Henley.

Andy commented: “Joining the Creative Industries Federation gives us an interesting way to engage with wider creative industries, and get plugged into a wider creative industries agenda both from a local and international perspective. We can provide input on and increase awareness of esports and its benefits.”

A Creative Industries Federation spokesperson said: "The Creative Industries Federation is delighted to welcome the British Esports Association on board.

“It is a pleasure to work with such a pioneering and forward thinking organisation."

The Federation also says that the challenges posed by Brexit and the opportunities presented by the industrial strategy have made its work more important than ever.

British Esports joins the Federation after joining other bodies – the Sport and Recreation Alliance, and UK games industry body Ukie – as a member.
