At the ISH 2019 in Frankfurt, the world’s leading trade fair for the combination of water and energy and the industry’s most important gathering, the bathroom furniture manufacturer from Bad Fredeburg in Germany’s Sauerland region will be showcasing its latest new products for bathroom lighting. After achieving a new level of quality in the combination of furniture and ambient lighting with the successful launch of the rl40 range and mirror cabinet in 2017, burgbad is now expanding its offering with the rl30 mirror cabinet developed by Swiss designer Thomas Gerig. With rl30, burgbad offers more price-conscious customers the possibility of enhancing their bathrooms with a timeless mirror cabinet that provides top-quality lighting and has the potential to become a classic.

Innovative and patented indirect lighting for glare and shadow-free light

For many people, looking at themselves in the bathroom mirror in the morning or evening isn’t something they spend much time on. That’s mainly because the light emitted by the mirror or mirror cabinet is often unfavourable or dazzling, with the result that they’re reluctant to expose themselves to it any longer than is absolutely necessary. But today’s customers want a pleasant atmosphere that will help them switch off from the stress of everyday life in their bathrooms too. The Room Light range from burgbad does exactly that with the new rl30 mirror cabinet and its needs-based, glare and shadow-free light that turns putting makeup on or shaving into a simple and pleasant procedure. It’s made possible by innovative and patented indirect lighting via integrated diffusers that cover half the inside surface of the doors and distribute the light that’s emitted obliquely from inside the cabinet to illuminate the user in even, daylight-quality light. For people who appreciate understated, timeless design while having high expectations of the bathroom as a “workspace”, rl30 is the perfect mirror cabinet. rl30’s simple design blends in with any modern bathroom setting. And the version with mirrored side panels even makes itself virtually invisible.

Standard for rl30: exclusive ambient lighting and a wide choice of finishes

When closed, the mirror cabinet is pleasantly unobtrusive. It’s available in four sizes – 800, 1,200, 1,400 and 1,600mm – and comes equipped with extremely subtle indirect LED lighting that follows the top and bottom lines of the carcass as a standard feature. This can be supplemented with optional lighting on the sides.

The outer sides of the mirror cabinet carcass are available both as mirrored surfaces and in a choice of 13 different melamine finishes: White Gloss, Anthracite High Gloss, White Matt and Basalt Grey Matt, and the wood-effect finishes Merino Oak, Cashmere Oak, Flannel Oak, Mocha Oak, Frassino Cappuccino, Tectona Cinnamon, Velvet Walnut, Marone Truffle and Hacienda Black. As a result, rl30 provides numerous options for creating accents that match or contrast with the design of the bathroom and wall tiles.

Even more minimalist: rl30 comes in a recessed version too

For those who want their bathroom to look as minimalist and purist as possible, the rl30 mirror cabinet can also be fitted into a recess in the wall. Then nothing but the mirrored front is visible, set apart from the wall by an illuminated shadow gap.

New usage concept: grooming in front of the mirror even when the doors are open

The doors of rl30 open to reveal generous storage space and a convenient interior; even the two-door mirror cabinet (width: 800mm) is equipped not just with the two mirrored doors on either side (with the integrated diffusers on their inner surface) but also with a third, interior mirrored door that’s concealed when the two outer doors are closed. Besides permitting convenient usage of the cabinet even when the other two doors are open, this centrally positioned mirrored door also permits optimal implementation of the indirect lighting concept.

In addition to interior lighting, all the rl30 mirror cabinet models are conveniently equipped with a switch/socket combination, a door switch and elegant shelves made of ultra-clear glass. The back panel of the cabinet is finished in white to reflect the light, while the inside of the carcass is finished in anthracite grey to create a smart and attractive contrast with the rear wall.
