Functionality of bed material in CFB boilers

The animation shows why you use a so called bed material in a circulating fluidised bed (CFB) boiler. Bed material in the form of sand is used to even out heat fluctuations and make the combustion of the fuel more efficient. It works much like hot stones in a fireplace. Silica sand is today the standard bed material. Broadcast quality is available >> press@chalmers.se
