Creative Cloud – Adobe in the Cloud

Many have already done it and more will do so. Now Adobe has also come to the cloud. They call their cloud services Adobe Creative Cloud. We at ComAround have existed in the cloud since 2000 and were somewhat in advance of our time. Not everyone was ready for it. Just a few years earlier, we had sent a web browser together with our service to those companies which still had no access to the Internet. Now times have moved on and to be able to offer one’s services via the cloud emerges as the self-evident solution for more and more companies.

What is meant by the cloud

According to Wikipedia, cloud computing is a technology based on the delivery of IT power and resources over the Internet. It is a technology where large scalable resources, for example processing power, storage and functions, are supplied as services on the Internet to users who do not need to have the technical knowledge or control over such infrastructure.

Cloud computing covers software on the Internet (SaaS, software as a service), Web 2.0 and other technical developments where the Internet is used to satisfy the end-users’ IT requirements, for example through using a web browser and, via this, running software that is available on another server.

Services or software that are already based in the cloud

Masses of services and software already exist in the cloud. A number of companies have started their business in the cloud such as Dropbox and Flickr. Meanwhile, other services  have been developed to a stage where they are also to be found in the cloud such as Microsoft Exchange Online (e-mail system) and Office 365 (office collaboration software). It was not long so ago that Apple chose to supply the iCloud system due to the possibility of storing and providing users with access to its apps on all its different devices.  And now it’s Adobe’s turn...
