The Shadracks are a three-piece rock n’ roll group hailing from Medway, Kent, with Babylonian overtones.

Drawing lyrics from the forgetfulness and lost hope the group aims to play 40 years in the past, but with modern precision. The origins of the group date back over 6 months when Huddie Shadrack and Ellisa Abednego had a brief encounter in deserted parkland.

With a sheared an interest in incompetent punk and beat music it became paramount that they form a group, and quickly. At that very moment they heard the dulcet twang of old onion strings being plucked in the near versinity. Scouring the herbaceous borders the two friends happened upon Elle Meshack, harp in hand. Could she fix them into shape?

The answer was ‘yes!’ So via a frosty garage in upper Strood The Shadracks’ sound came into being.

After just two rehearsals the cocky kids decided it was high time they recorded a debut LP. And so it came to pass.

The Jack Cades were born in late 2017 when Mike (Lead Guitar, Vocals) and Elsa (Rhythm Guitar, Vocals) decided to record some of their songs at Mole's (Drums) notorious State Records Studios in Folkestone, Kent. They invited John Gibbs (The Masonics, The Wildebeests) to record bass on some of their songs at the time, which resulted in a mini debut LP  "Music for Children" , which was released May 18th on Dirty Water Records.

They then had the brilliant idea of asking the lovely Alexandra (Speedball Jr) to join them on bass, who accepted the proposition, thankfully.

The Jack Cades is a mix of a shared passion for inspirational sounds such as 1960s Garage bands, Snotty Punk from the 1970s, Sun-kissed sweaty Rhythm n' Blues, and a lot of inspirational people.

Deep in the forest outside of Berlin, one of rock and roll’s most under the radar yet omnipresent figures is putting the finishing touches on his latest solo record, but in fact traces of  Mark Sultan can be found around the world. Cosigned by celebrated labels In The Red, Last Gang, Crypt, Fat Possum, Dirtnap, Goner, Sub Pop, Vice, Bomp!, Norton, Sympathy For The Record Industry, and Wick (Daptone Records), you’re bound to have come across something with Sultan’s name on it, where over the course of multiple decades he’s compiled an insane discography built from the strength of multiple albums, side projects and top-shelf solo efforts, always with a strong deposition towards taking classic garage rock sounds and contorting them in experimental and twisted new ways.

Sultan has been quietly making moves for decades, earning the respect of legends like Jon Spencer and Deerhunter’s Bradford Cox, who have covered his songs and sang his accolades. Touring the world incessantly with his collaborative efforts with King Khan as King Khan & BBQ show, and with Bloodshot Bill as the Ding Dongs, his constant state of proliferation also led to involvement in Black Lips’ supergroup the Almighty Defenders, where the much-mythologized band of brothers wrote, recorded and mixed eleven tracks in the span of two days. Part gospel, part soul, the resulting accomplishment was a testimony of hook-filled rhythm and blues as only Sultan could forge, a boundary-pushing fusion of genres that still defies expectation
