Two weeks before they left the shores of their native New Zealand for the grimy cobblestones of London garage-punk miscreants The Cavemen attempted a tour in support of their first album. What went down was equally chaotic as the 19 minutes of puerile degeneracy found distilled on their debut release. Youth halls were desecrated, now-defunct venues were soiled and an ill-fated final show in a graveyard was cancelled when the tour vans engine exploded and a passing motorist collided with bassist Nick Caveman.

How far have The Cavemen come in the two years since might you ask?

Well, eye-witness reports this year place the group public drinking with the homeless, altercating with airport police, and openly abusing controlled substances in gas station car-parks. Yes anti-social behaviour, borderline insanity and budding alcoholism have remained trade marks of the group as they’ve traversed Europe. Including stops at Gambeat Fest in Barcelona, Get Lost in Hamburg, Kliko in The Netherlands and After Dark in France The Cavemen’s festival circuit freak show has left audiences shocked and appalled across the continent.

This debauchery will culminate at the imminent We’re Loud Festival in Naples on Friday 6th October. With their throats dry and their endorphins sapped its anyone’s guess as to what kind of shit storm’s gonna unfold when these psychopaths from down under hit the stage. With further dates scheduled for Lisbon, Amsterdam and Berlin later this year the madness has not let up pace in the slightest.

So to celebrate this cavalcade of chaos Dirty Water Records are re-releasing that first record that jettisoned the band from antipodean obscurity to European dive-bar notoriety. Purveyors of taste beware! The 180 gram re-issue will be packed with added delinquency in the form of two bonus tracks and a limited run of blood-red vinyl.
