EC Harris Delivers TAJ Lifestyle Center in Jordan

EC Harris, the global Built Asset Consultancy, has successfully completed work on TAJ in Jordan, with the Lifestyle Center formally opening its doors to the general public last month.

The firm started work on the TAJ scheme when it was approximately 66% complete, and over the past 18 months EC Harris has provided a range of services to ensure Jordan’s newest retail development was completed on time and delivered full value to Al Tajamouat for Touristic Projects PLC. The services that were delivered included due diligence and strategic advice, programme management, tenant management, project & construction management, cost & commercial management, and contract solutions.

Located at the heart of Abdoun, TAJ Lifestyle is a 150,000m2 retail complex that features over 190 stores including luxury brands that have previously not been seen within the country. Over the next few months, the Lifestyle Center will house a diverse mix of restaurants, cafes, a family entertainment centre and a state-of-the-art cinema complex.

Mr. Halim Salfiti, Chairman of the Board of Al Tajamouat for Touristic Projects PLC, said: “EC Harris first came onboard in July 2010 and since then they have played a key role in the delivery of this spectacular lifestyle concept, helping to ensure that the project is completed to the committed budget, programme and specification”.

Simon Light, Partner at EC Harris added: “TAJ Lifestyle will become a major part of Amman’s retail landscape and we are delighted to have been involved in this prestigious scheme. We have utilised our experience and knowledge of delivering major shopping mall schemes in the MENA region to the benefit of the developer, investors and tenants”.

EC Harris has previously worked on several high-profile shopping malls across the MENA region, including the Mirdif City Centre development in Dubai, the Bloomingdales store in Dubai Mall, the Al Wahda Shopping Mall in Abu Dhabi and Doha Festival City in Qatar.
