Business students tackle their elephant in the room

Over the last four months elephant communications has been running a competition with Masters students from the University of Exeter business school. The ‘elephant in the room’ competition, which asked students to tackle the big issue they felt businesses faced when it came to media and communications, will result in the winning student securing paid work with elephant communications over the summer.

Since launch, elephant communications has been invited to give talks at a number of universities, discussing findings from the various market research reports it publishes each year. For 2013/14 the student competition will be extended to universities that the elephant connects with.

Our insight work is a key part of our evidence-based approach to consulting. The university talks we have been invited to deliver have evolved quite naturally and on the back of the Exeter competition we are keen to make this an annual initiative. More than just work experience or an internship, we’re keen the opportunity we present the winning student is real and hands-on – and that they get a chance to do something about the elephant in the room they talked about during the competition.
