ellenor Hospice runner up for National Award

Our HR team has been awarded the runner up in the Human Resources Management category at the Charity Times Awards. Now in their 19th year, the awards are run by Charity Times Magazine and aim to celebrate and recognise excellence and innovation in the charity sector.

Claire Cardy, ellenor Chief Executive says: “We are honoured to have been shortlisted for this award. Working within hospice care is increasingly challenging and profoundly rewarding and the work of our human resources team helps to support the way that we deliver our services to our communities.

We know our work force is our biggest asset and over the last 18 months, our Human Resources team has worked seamlessly with key staff providing support and advice across all areas of the organisation from strategic planning through to the recruitment and development of staff including our wonderful volunteers – who bring a wealth of expertise and skills to the hospice and make a truly valuable contribution.”

The category recognises the work done by Human Resources managers in maintaining the professionalism and integrity of a UK registered charity and ensuring the charity is a good to place to work and applies the highest ethical working standards.

We were thrilled to be shortlisted for our workplace practices. We work hard to make ellenor a welcoming place for those families facing a life-limiting or terminal illness. We do this by attracting, retaining, developing and engaging a great team of people who are committed to providing the correct level of care and I should like to thank them for all their support and dedication. Without their efforts, we would not be able to achieve what we have done so far” says Natalie Webb, ellenors Director of HR.
