New Director of Income Generation appointed at ellenor

Kent hospice charity ellenor has appointed Linda Trew as its new Director of Income Generation. She will replace Rachel Holweger who left at the end of the February to move to the United States of America.

Linda will be responsible for developing new sources of income streams to achieve long term sustainable income growth, increased profile and greater supporter engagement. As Director of Income Generation, she will work closely with Gary Taylor, Head of Retail to grow and strengthen this vital area of fundraising and develop income generation across ellenor’s 15 shops across the county.

Commenting on her new appointment Linda said: “Generating and growing income remains steadfast in our aim of delivering the highest quality of patient care. It is only through the ongoing generosity of the people and business community that ellenor is able to provide hospice care and support to families each year. It’s tough to continuously raise the £6.9 million needed each year for this vital service, but I have a great team and we have great plans - with the support and backing of our communities I am confident we can continue.”

Linda joined ellenor in 2004 as Appeals Manager and went on to assume various roles including specialising in corporate partnerships. She left in 2012 before returning to ellenor in late 2015 as Head of Fundraising. She has particular expertise in individual giving, corporate partnership, supporter experience and fundraising.

Prior to working at ellenor, she was Head of Brand, Communications and External Affairs in the charity sector. She has worked for a range of organisations including: The Children’s Society and Teenage Cancer Trust.

Claire Cardy Chief Executive of ellenor says:“As a charity we are reliant on our local communities to support our fundraising and charity shops, as less than a quarter of our income comes from the NHS. Linda will play a key role in leading the Income Generation teams to sustain the income we need to provide our vital round-the-clock care to patients and families, as well as identifying opportunities for growth as we continue to see an increase in demand for our services”.
