Equisys enhances document imaging capabilities for Microsoft Dynamics NAV

Batch capture of Purchase Invoices and Proof of Delivery documents provides instant on-screen access to raise productivity, improve service levels and speed-up approval processes

Equisys today announced an enhancement to the document imaging capabilities of its Zetadocs for NAV software solution. Zetadocs now captures, splits and automatically files into SharePoint batches of documents such as Purchase Invoices and Proof of Delivery forms, with relevant links created for immediate on-screen access from within NAV or SharePoint. This allows companies using Microsoft Dynamics NAV to increase productivity and speed-up approval processes, while also improving service levels offered to customers and suppliers by allowing queries to be handled faster as all associated documentation is now available instantly on-screen.

Zetadocs for NAV allows documents to be created with a unique identifier, recorded as a barcode, which can be read and used to automatically archive documents on their return to the organization. Alternatively, it is possible to print a barcode onto a sticky label from within NAV. This means that documents that have not been created in NAV, such as Purchase Invoices, can have a barcode label applied to them and are archived in the same way. What's more, a stack of barcoded documents of varying numbers of pages can be scanned as a batch, and then Zetadocs can use the barcodes to automatically split the documents and file each one quickly and accurately.

"For many organizations, paper-based processes are hampered by lost or misfiled documents, or it being difficult to give all relevant personnel easy access to paper copies," explains Chris Oswald, CEO at Equisys. "Zetadocs addresses this by ensuring that documents are securely captured into SharePoint automatically, in a quick and easy way. For example, Purchase Invoices or Proof of Delivery documents could be loaded into a scanner at the end of the day, and then automatically scanned, split, stored and linked all ready for people to view when they arrive the next morning, from either NAV or SharePoint."

The document imaging capabilities of Zetadocs for NAV are available as an upgrade to the Zetadocs for NAV Capture Plus edition, which allows the product to be configured and customized to meet specific customer needs.

Zetadocs' document imaging solutions are available immediately through Advanced Solutions Partners of Equisys. Zetadocs Express for Microsoft Dynamics NAV will be available in the fourth quarter of 2011.
