Their priorities focus on providing high quality, safe services which are all about people – patients, carers, staff and partners. They are the second largest employer in Stockport, with a highly-skilled, committed and dedicated workforce.

The Trust’s main hospital is Stepping Hill which provides emergency, surgical and medical services for people living in the Stockport and surrounding areas. Their stroke services have recently been rated as the best in England for the second year running, they have been recognised for their excellent patient outcomes in some of their cancer services, and they run one of the largest orthopaedic services in the country. An opportunity has now arisen within the Trust for a Director of Finance. As executive lead for Finance, Contracting and Procurement, the post holder will be a full voting member of the Trust’s Board of Directors. They will be accountable to the Board for all financial matters and responsible for developing and implementing the Trust’s financial strategies.

In addition to their direct portfolio the Director of Finance will work with other Board members on the Trust’s wider strategy, upholding the values of the Trust at all times. Outside of the Trust they will be able to make a significant contribution to the partnership working developing across the system. Suitable candidates for this post will bring leadership experience within a complex organisation and a track record of delivery in a similar post.
