  • Fred. Olsen Announces Fuel Surcharge Effective 10th June 2008

    Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced that, due to the rising cost of fuel, it has become necessary to increase the current fuel surcharge on all new bookings for cruises departing up to and including 16 April 2009 made on or after 10th June 2008. Bookings confirmed prior to that date will not be affected.

  • Two New Cruises on Fred. Olsen's Balmoral

    Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has just announced two brand new cruises aboard latest ship Balmoral. BL025 is a 12-night cruise around Britain, departing from Dover on 7th October. This cruise visits some of the loveliest parts of England, Ireland and Scotland – as well as a final call into Amsterdam for some continental flavour!

  • New BioFuel Initiative For Fred. Olsen

    Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has signed a deal with Bio Driven of Canterbury, a new start up company dedicated to the production of high quality, compliant Bio diesel. Waste cooking oil from the cruise ships will be collected and transformed through a carbon negative process into a clean and efficient fuel.

  • Fred. Olsen Scores a Bullseye!

    Guests aboard selected Fred. Olsen cruises during 2008 will have an extra treat to look forward to, as one of Britain’s lest-loved game show hosts will be the star entertainer. Jim Bowen, of Bullseye fame, will star on two Black Watch cruises (BW866 and BW869) to Iberia and the Canaries and two Boudicca cruises (BD061 and BD062) from Liverpool to Norway.

  • Fred. Olsen Celebrates First Mediterranean Fly-Cruise from Bristol

    Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines recently laid on a little something extra for lucky customers on their first fly/cruise to the Mediterranean from Bristol Airport. To mark the occasion of the first Mediterranean departure, Fred. Olsen greeted passengers with champagne and orange juice accompanied by delicious Mediterranean-style canapés to get them in the holiday mood.

  • Fred. Olsen Starts Fly-Cruise Programme from Rome

    Fred. Olsen’s latest ship Balmoral begins a short season of Mediterranean fly/cruises from Civitavecchia (the port for Rome) on 1st May, with flights direct from Stansted. The 1,340 passenger ship will operate five cruises in the Mediterranean and Adriatic before returning to her UK home port of Dover for the remainder of the year.

  • Fred. Olsen to Cruise from Portsmouth

    Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced plans to base the 839-passenger Boudicca in the southern port of Portsmouth in the autumn of 2009. This is in line with the cruise line’s philosophy of using a variety of regional departure ports for its worldwide cruise programme.
