Witness appeal made in Winchester assault investigation

We are appealing for information after a man sustained a broken nose during an assault in Winchester.

It took place outside the library in Jewry Street, at around 11pm on Saturday 19 January.

The 19-year-old victim said he was assaulted by three men he did not know. He sustained facial injuries, including a broken nose and a fractured cheekbone.

Each man is described as being aged between 20 and 25 years old.

The first man is described as Asian, of slim build and wearing a long, light-coloured jacket.

The other two men are described as being white and overweight.

Detective Constable Matt Chapman said: “Were you out in Winchester city centre that night?

“Perhaps you remember seeing a confrontation in Jewry Street, at around 11pm? Or do you remember seeing three men together that matched the descriptions given?

“If so, we would like to hear from you. Any information could help our investigation.”
