10 March, 2021 – Hitachi Rail SpA announced today the signing of a contract with Trenitalia for the integrated logistic support of the ETR 500 - Frecciarossa high-speed fleet of 59 trains.

The contract value is €152,8 million and has a duration of six years. The contract also includes an option for two more years.

The contract for the integrated logistic support provides the management of the repair service and the management of the spare parts and train components through the optimization of the inventory stock levels and delivery of materials within 48 hours. This allows to further increase the availability and the efficiency of the high-speed operations in Italy.

“We are delighted that Trenitalia has put its confidence in Hitachi Rail once again through this contract as proof of our continuous and positive collaboration. In a very difficult time that we are all experiencing, we are proud of the commitment and efforts of all our teams to guarantee the continuity of our and our customers businesses" said Edoardo La Ficara, Executive Officer, Operation Service & Maintenance Division, Hitachi Rail.

Hitachi Rail has a wide experience in the high-speed service and maintenance activities: from the maintenance contract on the ETR 500 to the Full Service contracts on the ETR 1000 and ETR 700.
