At Lifeplus we feel fortunate to have water
Water for us is the simplest and most essential element to life and yet it is so often taken for granted. Water is a source of inspiration – we use it to drink, to clean, to wash and to play. But because we have such a ready supply of easily accessible clean water, we can be guilty of forgetting its value as a precious commodity and taking for granted how fortunate we are. Especially as large parts of our world have to survive without it, such as Africa, where there is not enough drinking water, where children miss school to travel miles to fetch a daily supply of water and where crops fail to grow without regular watering.
The Lifeplus Foundation, set up in 2011 as a not for profit corporation, reaches out to under-served populations to promote healthy lifestyles and inspire individuals to achieve their full potential. This year we’re delighted to welcome back the Lifeplus Foundation Fundraising Weekend – a weekend of fun activities all for a great cause.
It’s because of so many caring people, who last year organised fundraisers, ran, walked and cycled, that over 2,000 children now have clean water in their schools. Just imagine what we can achieve this year! The money we raise this August at our Fundraising Weekend will bring safe ongoing water to an entire community in rural southeast Kenya with donations funding the construction of a sand dam, well and two school water systems.
As well as raising money to support this great cause – we’d like to raise awareness too. So please help our campaign ‘Fortunate to have water’ by sharing images or videos to socialshare@lifeplus.com showing how you feel fortunate to have water and support The Lifeplus Foundation.
We look forward to welcoming you at our August Fundraising Weekend. You can find out more by visiting the Lifeplus Foundation website. You can still buy tickets but hurry as ticket sales will end Wednesday 9 August.
