Lindab's distribution fleet is now powered by renewable fuel

Driving a sustainable business is a cornerstone of Lindab's commitment for a better climate. In order to achieve a circular economy and be able to offer customers sustainable solutions, all parts of the value chain - purchasing, manufacturing and transports - must reduce the resources used and thus lower the carbon dioxide emissions.

This week, Lindab have taken another important step to improving circular economy by changing the fuel for their UK distribution fleet to Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO).

HVO fuel is a fossil-free alternative to mineral diesel fuel, manufactured from 100% renewable and certified waste materials.

The 4 articulated lorries that form the distribution fleet are used to transport goods from Lindab's production site in Manchester and distribution centre in Northampton to the nationwide Ventilation branch network covering over 300,000 km per year. The change to renewable fuel will reduce net CO2 greenhouse gas emissions from these vehicles by up to 90%.
