Press release -

First delivery of ventilation ducts in recycled steel for project with AMF Fastigheter

Lindab, a leading supplier of ventilation solutions, has taken a pioneering step towards the goal of reducing the climate impact of its products by offering ventilation ducts in recycled steel as part of its range. The first project to use these ventilation ducts is Jakobsbergsgatan 24, a property in the Mood quarter in Stockholm owned by AMF Fastigheter.

- "We are proud to be able to drive development forward in the ventilation industry and now supply ventilation ducts in recycled steel to AMF Fastigheter and their project Jakobsbergsgatan 24, which has an obvious sustainability profile", says Magnus Jacobsson at Lindab.

The recycled steel contains 75 percent recycled material and reduces the climate impact by as much as 62 percent. The total reduction of CO₂-emissions for the ventilation ducts in the Jakobsbergsgatan 24 property amounts to 30,036 kg CO₂e (A1-A3 GWP fossil), which marks a significant step towards creating more sustainable buildings.

- "We at AMF Fastigheter work to reduce our climate footprint and show the way for the transition that must take place in the construction and property industry. In the project at Jakobsbergsgatan 24 in Stockholm, we have stubbornly pushed the solutions forward and Lindab ventilation ducts in recycled steel are an important component of that work"
, says Tove Törneman at AMF Fastigheter.

AMF Fastigheter is rebuilding and updating Jakobsbergsgatan 24 into a modern, sustainable and flexible office property. New climate-efficient solutions are tested, for example, it is about building so that all installations, roofs, floors and necessary functions will last for all possible floor plans for at least 30 years to come. In this way, they work to both reduce their climate footprint during the reconstruction, but also in the future.

Recycled steel and fossil-free steel are the two materials that Lindab has chosen to work with in order to reduce both its own and its customers' CO₂-emissions. Fossil-free steel, unlike recycled steel, is not in large-scale production today. Deliveries are expected to start in 2026 at the earliest. Recycled steel is a way to start offering products with a lower climate impact.

Lindab supplies both circular and rectangular ventilation ducts in recycled steel to the project. The installation is carried out by Adero, while the steel for the ventilation ducts is supplied by ArcelorMittal.
