New and expanded Commercial, Marketing and Communications team will play vital role in delivering London Sport's ambitions

Director of Commercial, Marketing and Communications, Tanya Rabin looks at the different roles which will make up her new and expanded team and how they'll work to fulfil London Sport's LDN Moving strategy over the coming year.

Throughout the festive period, it’s natural to look back and reflect on the past 12 months – it’s certainly been a busy year for London Sport.

But as we take our first steps into January, our focus switches to what’s ahead and the exciting plans that London Sport, and the wider physical activity and sport sector, has in the pipeline for 2022.

We’re fast-approaching 12 months since the launch of our new strategy, LDN Moving, which will continue to guide our approach and our efforts throughout the coming year.

In February, we’ll welcome our new CEO Emily Robinson to the organisation. And planning is already underway for our Active London conference and, of course, the London Sport Awards 2022.

In between, we will be accelerating the implementation of our strategy with new, impactful projects which will improve the lives of less active adults and young people in communities across London.

For us to do this, we need to continue to build our knowledge of these key audiences, know where they are and how best to engage them in physical activity and sport.

With so much on the horizon, we’re recruiting for multiple positions at a range of experience levels within the Commercial, Marketing and Communications team which I lead.

For those taking their first steps into the sport and physical activity sector, and with a particular interest in marketing and communications, we have a short-term graduate placement until the summer and a year-long intern role for undergraduates to gain vital experience.

We have two officer level roles, in Events and Marketing and Communications, to help us deliver positive digital and in-person experiences for our valued networks across the capital.

We’re also looking for an experienced Head of Consultancy & Commercial Partnerships(maternity cover) to implement our new strategy for growth, with a particular focus on business development and driving the client pipeline.

Finally, our new Head of Communications and Marketing will drive the reputation and profile of London Sport among key stakeholders and lead the development and implementation of multi-channel communications plans and events to fulfil our LDN Moving strategy.

Our mission to make London the most active city continues, and I know that a new, expanded Commercial, Marketing and Communications team has a pivotal role to play in delivering on our ambitions.

I also want to create a diverse team that reflects our city, challenges lazy assumptions, has creative ideas, and is bold and persistent in ensuring they’re delivered.

That’s why, as with all our vacancies, you won’t need a long cover letter and CV to apply but simply an ability to demonstrate your enthusiasm and ideas, and passion for our mission, by answering some short application questions.

If you’d like to know more about any of the roles, please visit the vacancies page on our website or get in touch with London Sport directly here and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
