Top Tips for Grant Funding Applications

London Sport Consultancy is offering a free webinar focusing on the top tips for grant funding applications for the physical activity and sport sector on Tuesday 22 February.

Ahead of the webinar next week, here's our sneak preview of some essential bid-writing tips from funding expert Aaron Dunkley as he outlined his key Do’s and Don’ts of grant funding application writing.

Do:

  • Use a dynamic style, tone, and language
  • Limit writing to one idea per paragraph and most sentences to 15-20 words
  • Use bullet points, lists, headings, and other text styling to break up block of text

Do Not:

  • Expect to make a square peg fit into a round hole
  • Assume the assessor has any knowledge of your situation/needs/target group
  • Flood your application with jargon, abbreviations etc. without explanation

Hear more hints and tips from Aaron on 22 February as he dives in-depth into the do’s and don’t of grant application writing, as well as provides the sector with tips around consultation with your target audience and external partners.

Aaron will discuss how to frame your case for vital funding support, and structuring clear, concise application to get the money you need into your organisation to continue creating positive outcomes in London.

Thursday's session will also encourage delegates to think creatively about their overall fundraising strategy, how they can improve their grant-readiness, and bolster their fundraising exploits.

Sign-up to attend the free webinar on Tuesday 22 February, 10am-11.30am here.
