Davies Sports return as sponsors of Volunteer of the Year at London Sport Awards 2020

Davies Sports, the leading provider of sports equipment to clubs and community groups across the UK, will return as sponsors of Volunteer of the Year at the London Sport Awards 2020.

The agreement marks the third successive year that Davies Sports have sponsored Volunteer of the Year and forms part of the company’s ongoing commitment to the work of clubs, volunteers and community groups working in London and across the nation.

This year’s London Sport Awards, supported by the City of London Corporation, will see Linda Almond, Nafisa Patel and Seth Lewis compete to be named Volunteer of the Year for their exceptional commitment to grassroots physical activity and sport in the capital.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of community physical activity and sport; for thousands of people across London, regular physical activity simply wouldn’t take place without the dedication, commitment and expertise of volunteers giving freely and willingly of their time and passion.

Davies Sports is a PE and Sport equipment supplier that is passionate about promoting physical activity for all ages and abilities.

They are committed to providing high-quality equipment and resources for every stage, plus advice and guidance supported by leading sport and education experts.

Announcing their sponsorship of the Volunteer of the Year Gareth Pashley, Davies Sports’ Marketing Manager, said:

We are delighted to return to the London Sport Awards and to once again offer our support to the Volunteer of the Year Award.

"The dedication that all three of this year’s shortlisted volunteers have shown to their sport and their communities is a real demonstration of the powerful impact that volunteering has all across London today.

"Good luck to Linda, Nafisa and Seth – we look forward to hearing more about their work at the ceremony next month.”

Volunteer of the Year has been a part of the London Sport Awards since it was launched in 2016.

This year’s winner will join previous Volunteer of the Year recipients including London Blitz American Football Club and Dynamic Sports Academy coach, Adrian Klemens, and Franck Batimba of Haringey Hawks who returns to the London Sport Awards in 2020 as a member of the Awards Judging Panel.

The London Sport Awards supported by the City of London Corporation will take place on the evening of Friday 6 March at the prestigious Guildhall in central London.
