London Sport appoints seven new Trustees to its Board

We are delighted to confirm the appointment of seven new Trustees to our Board, whose collective experience will boost our vision of making London the most physically active city in the world.

Our new Trustees bring a wide range of experience and specialisms that will complement the current Board’s areas of expertise and will help to enhance London Sport’s connections with a range of industry stakeholders operating across the capital. The appointments also reflect London Sport’s focus on increasing the diversity of the organisation’s workforce, making us more representative of the communities we serve.

Sally Benatar (Chief Superintendent, Metropolitan Police), Paul Benjamin (Chief Financial Officer, Microsoft UK), Charlie Boss (Commercial Director, ESPN Europe and Africa), Shaun Danielli (Director of Population Health and Inequalities, King’s Health Partners and South East London Integrated Care System), Naomi Hulston (Chief Operating Officer, Catch22) and Tracey McCillen (Chief Executive, UK Sports Association) will all join as independently appointed Trustees. Stephen Alambritis (Leader, Merton Council) joins as a Trustee appointed by our founding partner, London Councils. All will take up their positions with immediate effect and for an initial term of three years.

Commenting on the new appointments, Jillian Moore, Chair of London Sport said:

"I am delighted to welcome Sally, Paul, Charlie, Shaun, Naomi, Tracey and Stephen to our Board. Between them, they bring a formidable array of expertise and a vast network of connections, all of which will be of enormous value to our work.

"In light of the current situation, it is more important than ever that we are not spectators and we continue to make the case for the value of physical activity and sport in London. I am confident that our new Trustees, alongside our existing Board and the whole team at London Sport, will play an important role in supporting these efforts, and helping achieve our vision of making London the most physically active city in the world."

Tove Okunniwa, London Sport Chief Executive, said:

"These new appointments come at a crucial time for London Sport, and I look forward to working closely with all our new Trustees in the coming months. They bring a phenomenal mix of knowledge, wisdom and connections into many communities across London which will be invaluable to our work. We are committed to reflecting London's diversity through our organisation; our new Boardroom appointments mark an important step towards that goal."
