Glenarm to host ninth annual Festival of Voice

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council are delighted to support the ninth Glenarm Festival of Voice from Friday 30 August to Sunday 1 September.

Northern Ireland Opera will be bringing the event back to the historic village which will showcase some of the best young singers from across Ireland.

Five bright young talents will compete for the title of Northern Ireland Opera’s Voice of 2019 in a weekend-long programme of recitals and performances which culminates with the competition finale on Sunday 1 September at 7pm where the winner of the title is crowned.

For the first time this year there’s also the option of joining NI Opera and Glenarm Castle Tea Room on Sunday 1 September from 4.30pm -6.30pm between the last Radio 3 Recital and the Competition Finale for a special ‘Flavours of the Festival’ meal with access to the Competition Finale included in the ticket price.

The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, Councillor Maureen Morrow, said: ‘’Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is delighted to support the Festival of Voice, which has grown to be a truly fantastic event, attracting visitors from across the UK, Ireland and further afield.

“This year’s festival promises to the best yet, with an incredible offering for all ages to enjoy and a stunning line-up of remarkably talented performers. We are huge supporters of the arts in Mid and East Antrim, and we are looking forward to staging this festival on our beautiful coastline.’’
