Press release -

Last chance to have your say on the need and location of a new football facility in Portglenone

A survey to establish both the need and a suitable location for a new sports provision within the village of Portglenone is closing soon.

Councillors within Mid and East Antrim are on the lookout for a suitable location for a new football pitch following the removal of the existing pitch at Portglenone Marina.

Alderman Tommy Nicholl MBE said: “This consultation is an opportunity for local individuals and community groups to have their say on the need and location of a new sports facility. There have been a number of calls for a fit-for-purpose pitch in the village and now is the time to put your views forward on the type and location of the new sports facility.

“The information provided in response to this consultation will help give council a better understanding of what is needed for local people in the Portglenone community.

“Residents can also be assured that all information gained from the questions will remain confidential and that the information from the survey will be handled in line with Data Protection legislation.”

The closing date for submissions is Sunday 8 September 2019.

The questionnaire can be found at ow.ly/nMpu50uVDWS
