Mayor congratulates Lord-Lieutenant on prestigious appointment

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough, Councillor Peter Johnston, has congratulated the Lord-Lieutenant of County Antrim, David McCorkell, on his appointment as a Knight of The Order of St John.

St John is a working Order of Chivalry and a modern organisation delivering first aid, healthcare and support services around the world.

The Order promotes physical, mental and spiritual health and resilience in more than 35 countries, mostly in the Commonwealth.

Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, bestowed the prestigious honour on Mr McCorkell.

Mayor Johnston said: “I would like to take this opportunity to send my congratulations to the Lord-Lieutenant of County Antrim, Mr David McCorkell.

“This is a prestigious appointment and reflects the significant work that David carries out right across the community.

“On behalf of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, I am delighted to share our best wishes on this important occasion.”
