Mayor expresses condolences following the death of former Northern Ireland First Minister, Lord Trimble.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Noel Williams, has expressed his condolences following the death of former Northern Ireland First Minister, Lord Trimble.

The Mayor said: “I was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Lord Trimble and my thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time. Lord Trimble played a pivotal role in the negotiation of the Good Friday Agreement, helping pave the way to a more peaceful Northern Ireland. With great determination and perseverance he dedicated his life to ensuring a brighter future for the people of NI and his passing is a great loss.”
