Secretary of State for Northern Ireland invited back to Mid and East Antrim after SuperCup visit

The new Northern Ireland Secretary of State, Julian Smith, has been invited back to Mid and East Antrim following his visit to Ballymena. During his first week in his new role, the Secretary of State enjoyed the SuperCup NI match between County Antrim and NC Elite, at Ballymena Showgrounds.

Commenting on the visit, Councillor Gregg McKeen, said: “It was great to welcome the new Secretary of State for Northern Ireland as he visited our borough on the first week of his new appointment.

“This visit was an opportunity for us to engage with Mr Smith on a number of important economic issues. We have invited him back at the first available opportunity to meet with Mid and East Antrim council members so that these issues can be discussed in more detail.”

Mr Smith was welcomed to the Ballymena Showgrounds by Ian Paisley MP, Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, Chief Executive, Anne Donaghy and chair of the Councils Borough Growth Committee, Alderman, Gregg McKeen.
