Appeal following a fatal road traffic collision in Southport

We are appealing for information after a pedestrian died following a collision involving a car in Southport this morning (Wednesday 30 January 2019).

A report was received shortly before 10.55am that a car had been in collision with a man on Town Lane Kew, near the hospital.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and officers are in the process of locating next of kin.

A closure remains in place on Town Lane Kew and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries into the incident.
