Appeal following assault in Liscard

We’re appealing for information following an incident in Liscard on Monday, 31 December 2018.

Officers were called to outside McDonalds on Liscard Way at around 11.05pm to reports a 16-year-old male had been assaulted by a group of three males. Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged and is recovering at home.

CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Detective Inspector Brian O'Hagan said: “I would appeal for anyone who was in the Liscard Way area, particularly near McDonalds, at the time of the incident and heard or saw anything suspicious to please get in touch. You may have seen the offenders making off or the assault taking place and any information could assist in bringing those responsible to justice.

“The 16-year-old victim was left seriously injured after this nasty assault and we are determined to establish the full circumstances and put the offenders before the courts.”

Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or call 101 quoting ref. 19100000673 or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111.
