Appeal following fatal collision in Eastham Rake

Officers from our Roads Policing Unit are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Eastham Rake, Wirral this afternoon, Wednesday 9 January.

At around 1.25pm, a report was received of a Vauxhall Antara in collision with a tree close to Eastham Rake Railway Station.

The driver, a man in his 60s, was treated at the scene but was sadly pronounced deceased a short time later.

CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries are ongoing.

The road has now re-opened after being closed for a short time.
