Appeal following fatal RTC - Linkway East, St Helens

Merseyside Police is appealing for information following the death of a woman who was involved in a road traffic collision on Monday, 24 December 2018.

The incident took place just before 2.30pm on Linkway East, St.Helens, when a 32- year-old female pedestrian was in collision with a red Suzuki car.

The woman was taken to hospital, where she sadly died on Tuesday, 8 January 2019.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is continuing to assist with enquiries.

Sergeant Mike Clarey of the Roads Policing Unit said: “We are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this incident and are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have dash-cam footage or may have stopped to assist, and would ask anyone with any information to contact @MerPolCC, 101 quoting reference 0539 of 24.12.18, or the Roads Policing Unit on 0151 777 5747.”

  • The family of the victim are aware, but have declined to release her name at this time.
