Appeal to reunite stolen mountain bikes with owners

We are looking to reunite the owners of two mountain bikes after two males were arrested and stolen goods recovered from their home.

A 19-year-old man from Seacombe and a 16-year-old male from Birkenhead were both arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of motor vehicles, following a burglary at an outbuilding on Hesketh Drive in Heswall on 11 December.

Following a search of the 19-year-old suspect’s home address, suspected stolen items were recovered including a Black Merida and a Black Nordic (pictured).

Both males have since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Inspector Bernard McHugh said: "We believe these bikes may have been taken from sheds or garages, and would appeal to anyone who believes one of the items may be theirs to check their sheds, garages and outhouses to see if they could belong to them.

"If you believe any of the items may be yours, please contact us so that we can verify the rightful owners."

Anyone with information on suspected burglary, or who recognises the items pictured, is asked to contact @MerPolCC, call 101 quoting reference 18400063881, or @CrimestoppersUK anonymously on 0800 555 111. Always call 999 if a crime is in progress.
