CCTV appeal following city centre assault

We have issued CCTV stills of two men police believe could have information which would assist an investigation into a city centre assault.

It was reported two men were assaulted around 1am on 8 December 2019 at the Celtic Corner club on Ranelagh Street by two men.

One of the victims, a 24-year-old man, sustained a fractured jaw which required surgery in hospital, while the second man suffered facial injuries.

Officers are now issuing CCTV stills of two men and are appealing to anyone who recognises him to come forward.

Detective Inspector Paul Speight said: “This was a shocking attack which left one man with a serious injury and a second man also requiring hospital treatment.

“We are determined to bring those responsible to justice. As well as causing physical injuries to the victims, they have clearly been left extremely traumatised by this incident.

“We appeal to anyone who recognises the men in the stills to contact police as we continue to investigate.”

Anyone who recognises the men in the images should contact the Merseyside Police social media desk via Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook Merseyside Police CC.
