CCTV appeal following serious assault in Liverpool City Centre bar

Detectives investigating an assault in Liverpool City Centre in December are issuing CCTV images of two men we think may have information to help their enquiries.

At around 1.35am on Saturday 22 December, a man in his 20s was slashed inside the Soho Bar in Concert Square. He was taken to hospital for serious facial injuries which required surgery.

27 year-old Oliver Sayonas of Freehold Street, Liverpool, was identified and detained at the scene. He has been charged with Section 18 assault and is on conditional bail to appear on trial at Liverpool Crown Court at a later date.

Detective Inspector Paul Speight said: "We believe that the two men pictured may have information to assist this ongoing investigation. The assault resulted in serious injuries to the victim, and would have been shocking to witness.

"Additionally, we would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and has yet to come forward, or who has any mobile phone footage inside the club from around 1.30am."
