Continuing appeal for witnesses following firearms discharge in Knowsley

We are continuing to appealing for witnesses after a man self-presented at hospital with gunshot wounds last night, Wednesday 31st July.

The man arrived at hospital at around 11pm and was treated for two gunshot wounds to his arm and groin area.

Originally it was believed that the incident happened near to Stadt Moers Park in Whiston but new information has emerged which suggests the incident actually took place in the Huyton area.

Detective Inspector Colin Rennison said: “We have conducted enquiries based on the information originally provided to us but we now believe the facts we were given were incorrect and that the actual incident happened somewhere in the Huyton area.

“We believe this to be a targeted attack and at this stage the injured male is not assisting with our enquiries but we are continuing to piece together the events of last night.

“I would continue to appeal to anyone who has information which could assist us to get in touch either via DM @MerPolCC, call 101 or contact @CrimestoppersUK anonymously quoting 19100421242.”
