Officers invesitgating rape in Crosby appeal for man to come foward

Officers investigating a rape in Crosby in October are appealing for a man to come forward who may have vital information that could assist them.

Abdoulayr Fall, 33 years, of College Road, Crosby was arrested and charged with the rape of a woman in her 30s following the incident in the early hours of 7 October. He was remanded to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 23rd April 2019.

Police have issued an image of a man they would like to speak to as they believe he could have key information about the circumstances leading up to the incident.

There is no suggestion the man in the image was involved in the incident but is believed to have been with the victim in Liverpool city centre earlier in the evening.

He is described as having shoulder-length dyed blonde hair and was wearing a shirt and jeans.

Detective Constable Louise Wright said: “I would urge the man in the picture to contact police as he may have vital information that could help with our investigation.

“I can re-iterate the fact he is not in any trouble and is not a suspect in our enquiries.

"I would appeal to the man, or anyone who knows him to come forward and assist with our investigation.

“We are also keen to speak to a second man who booked a taxi for the woman on College Road, Crosby at around 8.40am on 7 October.

“Again, that person is not being treated as a suspect. If you believe you might be that man, please get in touch.”

If you are the man pictured or know who he is, or are the man who made the call for a taxi, please contact Merseyside Police social media desk via Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook Merseyside Police CC.
