Police appeal for witnesses after shots fired at an address in Bowring Park

An investigation is underway after shots were fired at a house in Bowring Park last night, Monday 7 January 2019 .

At around 8.20pm, a call was received that shots had been fired at a house on Malvern Crescent.

Patrols have been stepped up in the area and crime Scene Investigators are carrying out forensic examinations at the scene. House-to-house enquiries are ongoing and officers will be examining CCTV footage from the area in a bid to identify the offenders.

A scrambler/off-road bike was heard in the area at the time of the incident and police are interested in hearing from anyone who may have information, which could help the, with their inquiries.

The investigation is in its early stages and at this moment in time the motive for the attack is unknown.

Detective Chief Inspector Craig Sumner said: "Detectives have been back out at the scene today and making inquiries in the local area and would like to take this opportunity to appeal to anyone who was in the area of Malvern Crescent last night, or anyone who may have information which could help us with our investigation, to come forward.

"We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a scrambler or off-road bike, being driven around the area just before the time of the incident, or shortly after.

"If you live locally, or were driving in the area at this time and have home CCTV, dashcam or any other details, please call us as your information could be vital to the investigation."
