Police make first arrest in connection with an assault in Kirkby
Merseyside Police can confirm that following an appeal to find those responsible for assaulting a 16 year old in Kirkby on 13th March, a 32 year old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Officers were called to the junction of Pinewood Gardens and Steeple View at 9pm to a report the victim had been assaulted by a group of males.
He was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries, including a slash wound to the face.
A 32 year old woman from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault and Conspiracy to commit assault. She has been released on conditional bail.
Inspector Phil Mullally said: “This incident, which has left a 16-year-old boy with a significant slash wound to the face, broken nose and bruising to his head, neck, torso and legs has shown the serious harm that knives can cause in our communities.
"Although we have made one arrest in connection with this, we are still trying to trace the four men that are said to have made off in a black Nissan Juke.
"If you have any information at all about this assault, or were passing nearby in a car at about 9pm and have dashcam footage, your account or evidence could be absolutely vital in our investigation, so please come forward.”
