Police presence in Wimbourne Road, Huyton

We were contacted last night, Friday 11^th January, following reports of an unconfirmed firearms discharge in Wimbourne Road in Huyton.

Reports were received of loud bangs being heard at just before 8pm. Officers attended at the scene and a search of the area and house-to-house enquiries have been carried out.

A further search of the area was carried out today (Saturday) but no evidence of a firearms discharge has been found. It is believed the loud noise was caused by fireworks.
