Two men arrested on suspicion of drugs supply by targeted team patrols

We arrested a 42 year-old man and recovered a quantity of what is believed to be Class A drugs in the Croxteth area.

Targeted team officers were driving along the East Lancashire Road at around 1.20pm on Saturday 24th August when they saw a large group of males huddled at the side of the road.

Upon seeing police officers the group dispersed.

A 42 year-old man was detained and found in possession of a large amount of plastic bags and a quantity of suspected cocaine.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

In a separate incident at around 11.20am the same day a patrol was on Pall Mall when a male was seen riding his bicycle. The male was seen to discard a large package. An officer pursued the male on foot and found him hiding in nearby bushes.

A white bag containing over 60 wraps of what is believed to be crack cocaine and 25 wraps of suspected heroin were recovered.

A 56 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
