Two men assaulted outside bar in St Helens

Officers are appealing for witnesses after two men sustained facial injuries during an assault whilst on a night out in St Helens.

The incident is reported to have happened at around midnight on Saturday 24th August, when two men, aged 36 and 37 were outside Breeze Bar on Ormskirk Road.

Here, a fight is believed to have broken out resulting in one victim being taken to hospital with a suspected fractured cheek bone and other facial injuries. The 2nd victim suffered facial injuries, however he did not require hospital treatment.

A 36 year old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of section 18 assault. He was taken to custody for questioning and has since been released pending further investigation due to a number of outstanding enquiries.
