Update - appeal following fatal collision in fairfield

Merseyside Police can confirm a man has died following a road traffic collision in Fairfield yesterday evening, Sunday, 20 January.

A report was received shortly after 5.50pm that there had been a collision on Prescot Road near its junction with Freehold Street involving a double decker bus and a red Kia Stonic car. The Kia was then in collision with an unoccupied stationary BMW car.

The driver of the red Kia, a 77-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he sadly died a short time later. He has been formally identified and next of kin have been informed.
