Press release -
OS Grid Ref Compass - iPhone App
An iPhone App designed specifically to benefit walkers in Great Britain has been launched in the iTunes AppStore.
OS Grid Ref Compass calculates a user's current position on the Ordnance Survey "National Grid", allowing map reading to become a doddle with the provided grid reference.
To aid navigation yet further, a handy on-screen compass will let the walker know their bearing, so alignment with their map can be a breeze.
The application also lists standard Latitude and Longitude coordinates, for if these should be of use for calibration of other GPS walking equipment.
A guide to the "National Grid" lettering system is also included within the app.
It is hoped that the software utility will prove useful not just for the walking community, but for participants in all outdoor activities.
Developed by Mike Irving, a Cheshire based mobile apps developer.
