Mondelez International Employees Put the ‘We’ in Wellbeing for Purpose Day 2021!

Mondelēz International celebrated its 3rd annual Purpose Day on October 1st, 2021. Celebrating the company’s purpose of ‘Snacking Made Right’, this year’s theme was wellbeing.

The snacking leader succeeded in inspiring thousands of colleagues, consumers, and communities by hosting a number of global and local virtual events.

Colleagues were invited to two global events, both with a wellbeing focus. Dirk Van de Put, Mondelēz International’s CEO, hosted a Linkedin Live Masterclass on the topic of personal wellbeing. The live session included a distinguished panel of internal and external thought leaders.

Dirk Van de Put commented: “Purpose really matters, it’s important for people, profits and for the planet. As a global snacking leader, we feel we have a great responsibility to make a positive impact. We are on a journey to try and create a company that is purpose led, enabled by our values”.

The second global event was a ‘Healthy Habits Global Well-being Challenge’ where colleagues were invited to complete 15 simple micro-actions on ‘WeSpire’ app.

In the UK, employees took part in a ‘Planet Patrol’ mission and collected 20,000 pieces of litter over four weeks. Many colleagues also volunteered to become a ‘telephone friend’ to an older person through AgeUK. To support consumer well-being, Mondelēz International teamed up with Grenade, which recently became part of the Mondelez family, for a panel discussion which explored their focus on wellbeing

The wellbeing of colleagues, consumers, and the communities we touch is of the upmost importance to us at Mondelez. We urge everyone to take time to prioritise their personal wellness and consider making simple changes that boost their mental and physical wellbeing.”
