Norwegian continues to experience a considerable passenger growth in January. Close to one million passengers flew with the airline in January, a 17 percent increase compared to the same month the previous year. The load factor keeps improving even with a strong increase in total capacity.
The total number of passengers flown in January 2011 was 965,785 compared to 827,743 last year, an increase of 138,042 passengers (17 %).
The total number of passengers flown in December 2010 was 966,332 compared to 815,562 last year, an increase of 150,770 passengers (18 %).
Norwegian continues to experience a considerable passenger growth in December. Close to one million passengers flew with the airline in December, an 18 percent increase compared to the same month the previous year. The load factor keeps improving even with a strong increase in total capacity.
Norwegian´s first aircraft, featuring the brand new Boeing Sky Interior, arrived in Oslo, Norway Friday morning. The new interior will increase passenger comfort considerably. Fifty-nine aircraft featuring the new interior will be delivered to the airline between 2011 and 2016.
Norwegian has completed sale and leaseback agreements for a total of four Boeing 737-800 with deliveries during first quarter 2011. The sale and leaseback transactions are in line with the company’s long term strategy to diversify the financing of the 63 aircraft Boeing order.
Norwegian continues to experience a considerable passenger growth in November. Close to 1.1 million passengers flew with the airline in November, a 16 percent increase compared to the same month last year. The load factor is better than last year, despite strong increase in capacity.
The total number of passengers flown in November 2010 was 1,084,782 compared to 933,371 last year, an increase of 151,411 passengers (16 %).
The agreement now also includes the summer season 2011 with an additional 800 flights with an approximate additional contract value of MNOK 320 The full agreement now comprises a total of 1,100 flights with a contract value of MNOK 490.
Norwegian has selected Boeing’s Dreamliner for the airline’s future long-haul operations. Today Norwegian entered into a Letter of Intent to lease two new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners from International Lease Finance Corporation, ILFC.
Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA has entered into a Letter of Intent to lease two new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners from ILFC. Norwegian will take delivery of the aircraft starting fall 2012. The lease term for both aircraft is 12 years. The Letter of Intent is entered into as part of Norwegian’s set up for Long Haul operations.
