Norwegian reports its best passenger figures ever in June. Close to 1.5 million passengers flew with the airline last month, a passenger growth of 19 percent compared to June 2010. The load factor was record high, at 81 percent.

Norwegian’s passenger growth continues in May as close to 1.4 million passengers flew with the airline. This is an increase of 16 percent compared to the same period previous year. During the past year, more than 14 million passengers have flown with Norwegian.

Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA has entered into a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Icelandair for the right to acquire three Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, which Icelandair currently has on order. With today’s announcement and contract signing Norwegian’s long haul-fleet will count five Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners.
Norwegian has signed an agreement for the right to purchase three Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners. The company has previously entered into an agreement to lease two aircraft of the same type, bringing the total number of such aircraft on order up to five. The Dreamliner is an aircraft for the future, featuring unprecedented passenger comfort, low operating costs and reduced emissions.
Norwegian’s passenger growth continues in April. More than 1.2 million passengers flew with the airline this month, an increase of over 416,000 passengers (53 percent) compared to the same period the previous year. Although the closing of European airspace in April 2010 affects the figures, April is a very good month for the company.
The total number of passengers flown in April 2011 was 1,207,891 compared to 791,371 last year, an increase of 416,520 passengers (53 %). Compared to the same period last year: - Total passenger traffic (RPK) increased by 58 % - Total capacity (ASK) increased by 44 % - The load factor was 77 %, up 6 p.p.
Soaring oil prices gave Norwegian an additional bill of over MNOK 140 in the first quarter. The high oil prices strongly contributed to the net result after tax of MNOK -293. The company transported 3.1 million passengers, 14 percent more than the same quarter last year and the turnover was NOK 1.9 billion, an increase of 19 percent. Production increased by 28 percent.
