Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA will release the third quarter results at 8.30 AM (CET) Thursday October 23rd. The Company's CEO Bjørn Kjos will present the results simultaneously at Felix Conference Center, Bryggetorget 3, Aker Brygge, Oslo.
Norwegian carried more than 2.2 million passengers in September 2014, an increase of 16 percent compared to the same month previous year. The load factor was 81.4 percent, up 3.1 percentage points.
Norwegian scooped three prizes at the prestigious Passenger Choice Awards 2014 in California last night. It won the categories Best in Region: Europe and Best in Inflight Connectivity & Communications. It also won an Avion Award in the category Best Single Achievement in Passenger Experience for its moving map on the 787 Dreamliners.
Norwegian continues to expand its long-haul network with new routes and more departures on existing connections. A non-stop service will launch between London Gatwick and Orlando and between Copenhagen and Orlando. In addition, there will be more weekly departures between London Gatwick and New York (JFK), London Gatwick and Los Angeles (LAX), Oslo and LAX, as well as Stockholm and San Francisco.

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) announced today that it will require additional time to reach a decision on Norwegian Air International’s (NAI) application for a foreign carrier permit to serve the U.S. from Europe. Until then, Norwegian Air Shuttle will continue to operate flights to the U.S. under its existing authority from DOT.
Norwegian continues to expand internationally and has decided to establish a new long-haul base at London Gatwick Airport. Both pilots and cabin crew will be based at London Gatwick. The airline has become a major player at London Gatwick and is currently the only airline offering low-cost flights between the UK and the U.S.
Norwegian has received seven nominations in the highly acclaimed Passenger Choice Awards 2014. Norwegian is represented in more than half of the categories, including “Best in Region: Europe” and “Best Overall Passenger Experience”. The Passenger Choice Awards has become one of the industry’s most significant award programmes for the airline industry.
Norwegian carried approximately 2.5 million passengers in July 2014, an increase of 17 percent compared to the same month previous year. This is the highest number of passengers Norwegian has carried in a single month. The load factor was 88.2 percent.
Norwegian (NAS) today reported a second quarter 2014 net profit of 128 MNOK. The second quarter is characterized by strong growth and a record high load factor, and influenced by significant, one-off costs, a weak Norwegian currency and high oil prices. The strike from labour union Parat earlier this year alone cost Norwegian over 100 MNOK in lost revenue.

It is the passengers themselves who have evaluated over 200 airlines worldwide in what is described as the most prestigious award in the airline industry. Norwegian’s CEO Bjørn Kjos received the prize today at Farnborough Air Show.
