Low cost airline Norwegian, which offers passengers free on-board WiFi, has revealed the favourite websites and mile-high surfing habits of UK passengers. News websites, property portals and online auction sites all feature in the surprising list of UK passengers’ top ten most visited websites in the sky.
As low-cost airline Norwegian continues its busiest ever summer in the UK, passengers have been in generous mood by donating more than £40,000 to UNICEF’s work for children all over the world.
Norwegian reports a continued passenger growth in July. The airline sets new passenger record with nearly 2.7 million travellers in July, the highest number ever in a single month. July was also characterised by considerable holiday traffic in all markets and a record high load factor of 94 percent.
Norwegian, recently voted ‘Europe’s best low cost airline’ and the ‘World’s best low cost long-haul airline’, has announced that members of its popular ‘Norwegian Reward’ loyalty programme can now collect CashPoints up to 30 days after departure.
Norwegian (NAS) today reported its second quarter results for 2015. The pre-tax result (EBT) was 456 MNOK, an improvement of 593 MNOK from the previous year. The load factor for this period was 85 percent with strong progress in all of Norwegian’s markets. This also applies to the long-haul operation, where the the passenger number has more than doubled since the same period last year.
Norwegian celebrated the first anniversary of its ground-breaking low-cost, long-haul flights between the UK and America today – by announcing a new route to Boston and confirming that summer 2015 is set to be a record breaker for the airline.
Starting 25 October, Norwegian will link Madrid with daily flights to Gran Canaria and Tenerife North, whereas Barcelona will be served to Gran Canaria, Tenerife North and Fuerteventura, and Malaga to Gran Canaria and Tenerife South, with fares starting for as little as €39.50 one-way, taxes included.
Norwegian reports a continued passenger growth and a record-high load factor of 88 percent for the month of June. The positive trend is a combination of solid growth on the long-haul operation and many sun-seeking Scandinavians during June.
Norwegian will launch flights from Boston, Baltimore/Washington, D.C. and New York City to two Caribbean destinations: the Guadeloupe Islands and Martinique. Only two years after launching its long-haul operation, Norwegian will now be the largest foreign airline at New York’s JFK airport in terms of number of routes. The airline currently offers 31 direct routes from the US.
