New passenger record for Norwegian in June

The total number of passengers flown in April was 861 530, an increase of 18 per cent. The domestic growth in Norway is even larger with 23 per cent growth in the number of passengers. From the recently established base in Denmark more than 95 000 passengers chose to travel with Norwegian in April.
More than 2.1 million passengers chose to travel with Norwegian in the first quarter of 2009 - an increase of close to 108,000 passengers compared to last year. The turnover was BNOK 1.4, an increase of 27 percent. The net result was MNOK -110 which is significantly better than last year. The seasonal variations in the aviation industry always hamper profitability in the first quarter.
The total number of passengers flown in March was 787 000, an increase of 9 per cent.
“We are satisfied with the traffic growth as we carried close to 670 000 passengers through our network in February, and had a stable load factor. Despite the current economic environment, Norwegian is reporting growth in passenger traffic,” says CEO Bjorn Kjos. He adds the fact that February 2009 had one day less of operations than last year as 2008 was a leap year.
Oslo/Fornebu 20 February 2009: Norwegian carried 9.2 million passengers in 2008 – an increase of 2.3 million compared to last year. The Group reported revenues of 6.2 billion in 2008 – nearly 50 per cent higher than the year before. In a challenging year with high fuel prices, CEO Bjørn Kjos is pleased with the company’s performance.
Anne-Sissel Skånvik has been appointed Senior Vice President Corporate Communications for Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA. Skånvik will be member of the Group Executive Management team and report to Chief Executive Officer Bjørn Kjos. Skånvik begins her new position 16 February 2009.
Oslo/Fornebu, 6 February 2009: A total of 648,302 passengers traveled with Norwegian in January, which is an increase of 5 percent compared to the equivalent period last year. The passenger traffic (RPK) for Norwegian.no increased by 20% and for Norwegian.se by 61%.
”We have experienced a significant growth of 32 percent for the Group in 2008. The domestic market share has increased in Norway, and is now well above 45 percent on some of the major routes. We have also improved our presence in the Scandinavian market. We are very satisfied with the passenger growth, and are looking forward to 2009 with excitement.

To fly etableres på basen i København fra 6. november og skal fly seks ruter. De nye rutene er København-Aalborg, Stockholm, Oslo, Alicante, Malaga og Nice. Ytterligere ruter blir fra København til London, Amsterdam, Roma, Krakow, Praha, Barcelona og Pisa.
