  • Boeing Alerts Possible Delay of Norwegian’s First 787 Dreamliner

    Boeing has alerted a possible delay in the delivery of Norwegian’s first 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft was scheduled to be delivered in late April. The June delivery may also be affected. In the event that the 787 is not operational in time for Norwegian’s services to New York and Bangkok replacement long-haul aircraft will be leased to ensure that flights are operated as planned.

    Today Norwegian will commence the ticket sales for its long-haul flights to New York and Bangkok from Oslo and Stockholm. The company's first long-haul flight will take place between Oslo and New York on May 30, 2013; the first flight between Oslo and Bangkok is on June 1, 2013.

    Norwegian (NAS) today reported a pre-tax profit of almost 900 million NOK. This is the company’s best ever result, an improvement of 187 million NOK from previous year. New aircraft have saved the airline 28 million NOK in fuel costs compared to the third quarter in 2011.
